From April 4th to 7th, Natal will host the 3rd International Conference on Innovation in Health, promoted by the Laboratory for Technological Innovation in Health (LAIS/UFRN). In its third edition, the event will have as its central theme “Resilience Systems: the social impact of innovation in health” and will have several speakers from Portugal, United States, France, among other countries. All the activities will take place at the Holiday Inn Natal hotel.

The opening of the 3rd CIIS will have the participation of Professor Rifat Atum, speaking about “Resilience in Health Systems”. Atum is professor of Global Health Systems at Harvard University. The representative of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in Brazil, Socorro Gross, will also be present at the Conference, giving a lecture on “The Importance of Digital Health in the Global Context”.
Another lecture planned for the event is “IHI’s successful experiences in Total Quality in Health, with Dr. Paulo Borem; and Relevance of Technological Ecosystems in Public Health Crises”, with LAIS’s executive director, professor Ricardo Valentim.

Important themes will also be worked on during the days of the event, such as Health Education: the impact of innovation on human formation in health; Syphilis and other STIs; Science for ALS, with several approaches on the project that works with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis; Right to Health; Prison System; Health Communication; and Health Surveillance in a Post-Pandemic Perspective.
