Most of the information conveyed by the media about the pandemic uses time series. The behavior of the virus, the interference of vaccination, the occupation of hospital beds. All this data is analyzed through time series built by scientists and researchers around the world, making it easier for the public to understand the information. Time series analysis was precisely the theme of the lecture given by Professor Cesar Teixeira, from Coimbra University, at the closing of the I International Seminar on Technological Innovation.
The scientific event was attended by Brazilian and Portuguese researchers and was a joint promotion of the Laboratory for Technological Innovation in Health (LAIS/UFRN) and the Center for Informatics and Systems at the University of Coimbra (CISUC).
Besides the Seminar lectures, the Portuguese researchers, during their stay in Rio Grande do Norte, worked together with LAIS researchers, developing in-depth studies and getting to know the projects developed by the UFRN Laboratory.
The Portuguese mission included professors Jorge Henriques and Paulo Gil, in addition to professor Teixeira, final lecturer of the seminar. The other professors also gave lectures, focusing on technological innovation in health.
For LAIS researcher Agnaldo Cruz, the exchange of experience is fundamental for the improvement of research. “The CISUC professors have different experiences from ours, which contributes to the advancement of the work. Professor Henriques also recognized the importance of the partnership between LAIS and CISUC. “The experience developed here in Brazil is extremely important. We all win with this partnership work.”
The 1st International Seminar on Innovation in Health took place between February 7th and 10th, in the auditorium of the Distance Education Secretariat (SEDIS/UFRN). All the material produced by the event will be transformed into an open educational resource and will soon be available.
