Health professionals working in the regulation of hospitalization beds in Rio Grande do Norte will receive online training, aiming to operate the RegulaRN system. The action, developed in partnership between the Laboratory of Technological Innovation in Health at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (LAIS / UFRN) and the State Secretariat of Public Health (Sesap / RN), aims to prepare the team that will work in the management of state bed regulation during the COVID-19 pandemic, which should be used for the entire health system after the crisis period. The training starts this Tuesday (5th).

The activity should train public and private professionals. The health workers who will participate in the training will be distributed in virtual classrooms. In short, the target audience of the action is doctors and other health professionals who work in the internal nuclei of regulation of the services that will use RegulaRN.

According to Professor Lyane Ramalho, from the system’s coordination team, the measure aims to complement a recommendation by the Federal Public Ministry of RN (MPF / RN) and the state Public Ministry (MP / RN). “The use of the system is a recommendation of the MPF / RN and (MP / RN), who requested that this training be carried out for these RN professionals who will feed the system with the data. It is a very important action, as RegulaRN will help in monitoring the situation of each of the state’s hospital beds, enabling the state to maximize the results of its actions ”, he said.

The trainings, which will be online and live, will take place from 10 am to 11 am and from 3 pm to 4 pm, over a period of three weeks. Lyane pointed out that a team of LAIS researchers will be responsible for the activities. “In addition to classes, our team will also be available to answer questions that may arise from health professionals,” she explained. The modules also have manuals in text and video format, with the main operational information on the regulation platform.

According to Nicolas Veras, a researcher at LAIS, all the information material aims to ensure that health professionals can assimilate all the features of RegulaRN. “The idea is that both applicants and the provider units may have mastery of the tool, and that they also have a support channel for questions and information that are relevant,” he said.

For Paulo Gonçalves de Medeiros Filho, from the Sesap / RN Metropolitan Regulation Center, the system developed by LAIS solves a historical problem in the portfolio, bringing more security to the workflow of professionals working with bed regulation in the state.

“RegulaRN brought a wonderful possibility of regulation within the context of the Central Metropolitan of Regulation because it integrates the regulatory module and the providers with great security. Until then, we worked in a very rudimentary way, using simple spreadsheets. LAIS brought us with RegulaRN this possibility to move forward with the state regulation system. Thanks to the system, we will be able to act with greater speed and administrative security ”, he said.

Recommendation of MPF / RN and MP / RN
The Federal Public Ministry (MPF / RN) and the Rio Grande do Norte Public Ministry recommended the State Government to keep the RegulaRN platform updated, which regulates the beds of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in RN. The action aims to ensure greater control of the situation due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus. The system is a realization of the Laboratory of Technological Innovation in Health of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (LAIS / UFRN).

According to the MPF / RN, the action is of paramount importance for the implementation of the system and due regularization and monitoring of the number of beds throughout the state. The recommendation was made by attorney Fernando Rocha de Andrade.

According to the Public Prosecutor, the platform developed by LAIS meets the requirements required by health legislation, while providing a fundamental tool for public managers to access, in real time, information about the situation of beds targeted at patients. infected by COVID-19 in RN. The MPF / RN representative pointed out that the system “is a dynamic and intuitive instrument, which brings transparency to the regulation of beds in the state”.
