Autonomus is a project of the Laboratory of Technological Innovation in Health (LAIS), which presents assistive technology for patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Using a standard webcam on a laptop computer, the Autonomus user is able to exchange emails, read books and even talk.
The Health Informatics base was born from the objective of developing Information and Communication Technology, in the most diverse aspects of health.

Hearing and Language
Hearing e Language basis works on technological research applied to the typical and atypical development of children's hearing, language and cognition, as well as technological innovations aimed at the identification, diagnosis and rehabilitation of hearing disorders.
The work front stands out for the Teleconsulting project in Hearing Rehabilitation.
As Escolas do LAIS são compostas pelas Escola de Programação, Escola de Hardware e Escola de Inteligência Artificial e têm como objetivo: fomentar ações de caráter formativo aos pesquisadores do laboratório, a partir de problemas reais no âmbito da saúde pública.
