Event took place at the headquarters of the research center of the Portuguese University from 14 to 15 January
In partnership with the Center for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra (CISUC), the Laboratory of Technological Innovation in Health (LAIS) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) held the 1st Brazil-Portugal Research Integration Seminar , between January 14 and 15, at the Portuguese educational institution. The purpose of the action was to strengthen international cooperation and align ongoing research, as well as to articulate joint productions between research groups.
The event featured lectures by Professor Ricardo Valentim, coordinator of LAIS, and Professor Mário Emílio Teixeira Dourado Junior, from the Department of Integrated Medicine at UFRN, who also works in laboratory projects.
At the time, the researchers discussed research actions to develop solutions focused on health technology. To this end, we presented the results and status of the revELA and OSSEUS projects, with a focus on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and osteoporosis, respectively.
LAIS’s partnership with CISUC was forwarded in 2019, through meetings between researchers from both centers. The expectation is that the teams can also act in joint activities in other projects of common interest.
