Osseus

Osseus is a portable, easy-to-operate, low-cost device, providing scalability and enhancing its use anywhere in Brazil. The triage performed by Osseus is non-invasive and can be applied in shorter time intervals because there are no side effects for patients, unlike other traditional methods. Osseus was validated by LAIS researchers in partnership with researchers from MIT, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in the city of Cambridge – MA/USA.

To date, bone densitometry is the exam that allows for the early diagnosis of osteometabolic diseases, determining the beginning of treatment and fracture prevention. However, this is still a high-cost procedure of difficult access for the population, available only in high-complexity or specialty services. Ultimately, Osseus derives from the need to make such a medical exam more accessible,  permitting a high scalability factor, which enhances its use anywhere in Brazil.
