The Virtual Learning Environment of the Brazilian Health System (AVASUS) is a tool for training professionals, students, and the general population. It offers self-instructional courses that foster participants’ qualifications. The courses are free of charge, the platform enables social inclusion through distance education for people all over the world.

AVASUS was conceived by the Ministry of Health and developed by the Laboratory for Technological Innovation in Health (LAIS) in partnership with UFRN’s Distance Education Department (SEDIS).

The courses offered on the AVASUS platform are designed based on the needs of the Brazilian Health System (SUS) and aim to qualify the training of professionals, undergraduate students, and health workers.
